12th January 2003
At Saint-Bonnet de Chirac (Lozère) two
lovely plots of agricultural land, parcels B429 (20.01 ares)
and B427 (19.62 ares) have just been bought in joint ownership.
Several dozen people wish, by this act of solidarity, to snatch
this land from the cruel routine of its destiny, and shield
it from the devastating voracity of motorway constructors.
The " ArtPenteurs " collective salute and assert
the beauty of this gesture. Thus, on this same land, the "
Espace Ecologique d'Art en pleine nature " has been created.
For the collective, this founding act reinscribes
the site in a primordial geo-poetic perspective. It reconnects
with a movement as ancient as humanity in which the creative
gesture emerges from symbiosis with Nature.
The " ArtPenteurs " association intends
to extend this initiative born in the heart of a farm, by
developing an original action of engagement in innovative
art practice in the rural area. This action will
support the preservation of the natural environment as one
of the ethical and aesthetic central requirements for art
today.
The " Artpenteurs " have sent samples of soil from
the " l'Espace Ecologique d'Art en pleine nature "
of Saint Bonnet de Chirac to the most famous art museums on
the planet. These high realms of Art can thus without delay
include our avant-garde perspectives in their collections
in homeopathic dosage (and without any budgetary difficulty).
We invite anyone who is interested by the action
of the " Artpenteurs " to contact
us. The artistic programme for 2003 is currently
being prepared. It is still open. Artist or not, you are welcome
to join us.
